Emirates Today Interviews Dubai Consumer Mirror

Make sure you do NOT miss out on James Reinl's excellent expose' on UAE blogs; page 18 & 19 in today's issue of Emirates Today.

One thing, I miss communicated my nationality to James during the email interview. That was totally my bad; sorry James - honest mistake. Though two thirds of my immediate family is local, I am not :)

  • I should have checked here, before I posted on the UAE community. It would seem obvious that you would have been posting about it. Great tone you took with your comments - very objective.

  • thanks for posting it grapeshisha :)

I feel a bit awkward when it comes to applying 'self promotion' tactics

  • Have no problem posting good pieces, especially when they are relevant. Understand the modesty issue - coming up with the right tone to not come across as gloating/self promoting/preaching. You can just get someone like me to do that for you!

  • MORYARTI is now a eminent emirates personality. :)

    way to go mate...

however, let's hope this makes more people aware of how low consumer redressal and customer service standards and levels are here and major improvements are made, sooner rather than later.

  • Hi,

I know this is off-topic but I'm conducting a survey about the UAE blogs community. Would you mind taking it? Full details are below:

My name is Noor Ali-Hasan and I am a graduate student at the University of Michigan School of Information. As part of my master's thesis project, I am currently conducting a study about bloggers and their social networks. Based on your blog, you have been selected to participate in a short online survey about blogging. To qualify for the survey, you must meet the following qualifications:

    * Be at least 18 years of age
    * Currently keep a blog
    * Have a blog that contains a blogroll and/or allows comments
    * Have a blog that is part of the UAE Blogs community

Your participation is completely voluntary. The survey should take about ten to thirty minutes to complete. You may access the survey at this address:

    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?A=120826336E6181

All survey data will be kept confidential. The study's findings will be reported in aggregates and will not be used to identify a specific person. If you have any questions about this survey, please email me at nooraz@umich.edu.

Your time and participation is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

  • TV spot?

He'd have to disguise his true identity - maybe hide under a shayla and an abaya with a big Blogger emblem on the front, and speak in high falsetto!

I'd watch - please let us know the date and tinme in advance! :-)

  • I live in Dubai.I have an account with ABN Amro. At the time of re-issuing me a new Atm card the sales executive approached me with credit card which I did not want. To please him and for him to meet his targets I agreed on the condition that I would not be charged any fee for the first year. To my surprise the bank was prompt in deducting the (non -existant fee of Dhs200).

Can any one advise who should i approach (A consumer redresal forum)in DUBAI.

Look forward to a quick response.

    regards.

  • Dear Friends on line.

I thought that on logging in and publishing the latest post would pop in on the top. So I tried posting it thrice not knowing that the querry about the ABN bank was in place at the bottom of the scroll pad.

    Thanks.
