View from our room at the Atlantis .. at night

Remember the gift my wife got me a couple of weeks back? I decided to give it a shot, sorta-speak- to see if I can get all that reading I've been doing on photography into practice...

I can see 'handshake' effect in almost all of them .. i am investing in one of those tiny tripods. To all you photography buffs out there, let me know what you think as well...

  • You've got a great camera.... what setting are you using? since all of the pics are in low light you will be better off with a tripod.

    Happy clicking!

  • The DPS ... i used night portrait mode. For the horizental ones (steet, plam/dubai skyline), i rested the camera on the ledge of the balcony.

The ones i took of the ground floor, i had to hold in my hand - thats why, you can see handshake in the garden/pool shots

  • Once you're comfortable with the cam's auto settings it's good to try out the manual mode :D or at least AV

Reduce the ISO for less noise and you definitely need a tripod for those night shots.

Best way to remove the handshake effect is to actually use the timer. When you press the shutter the camera shakes slightly (during pressing and unpressing).. so the timer elimitnates that. You can also try holding your breath for a steadier hand.
