no idea. but judging from some graduates of knowledge village i've met, i'd say that it is missing a "road to enlightenment".
i looked high and low last time i was there on a photography course (just a 1 day thing), and there was no "road to enlightenment". would've kicked ass if there were.
maybe coz it has a good ring to it - when you say it out loud - knowledge village - nice strong j sound... good question by the way! ---- have you also noticed that some of the names here are pretty funny? there's a gym in karama called unifit, but when at a quick glance it looks like unfit. and this one never fails to crack me up - superkid (laundry).
शक्ती has reminded me of Honest Hands driving school, who incidently had an instructor arrested for fondling a female student. And there used to be a 'soft hands' Tailors in Bur Dubai about 20 years ago....yeh very soft hands they must have had.
i think it's because dubai is really humble about it's achievements and is considered "world class" in terms of knowledge. hence they called it a village.

"Knowledge Hamlet" or "Knowledge Cottage" would be far more appropriate - if not "Knowledge Windowless-Bedsit-Shared-With-Twenty-Bachelors".

Goes with the quality of education at KV. And also explains the number of Universities closing doors. Time to move from the village to the city ;-)
