A chance to save someone's life

I just got this on SMS; we need any negative blood, preferably A-, to be donated to Jad Abou Sawan, PIN# 160048. Please head to Al Wasel Hospital in Dubai tomorrow from 12 to 1pm to donate.

Please use his name and pin as a reference.

Note: I do not know Jad or his medical condition, but I hope he gets well soon. Sadly, my blood group doesn't match. I hope whoever sees this post can help or inform someone who can. Otherwise, text this message or forward link to your contacts list. Make a difference!

  • That is indeed very touching and kind of you.
I wish I could help as I am an universal donor.
But to the best of my knowledge A- can only recieve the same or O+ , then why the request for "any" negative blood?
Anyway Allah keep Jad safe and give him health.

  • Kaya,

If you are O-neg I'd imagine the hospital would be very glad to hear from you.

    Sorry I can't help; I'm AB-pos.

  • Went down there today, as I am A-. They already had enough blood for Jad by the time I got there - a pleasing testament to the generosity of strangers - but I donated anyway. Thanks for spurring me into this; I used to donate regularly back home, but fell out of the habit when we started travelling.
